The presence of the Vice President at the premiere of Guru Dutt's film

Guru Dutt is a director who has worked in the Hindi film industry for 12 to 13 years. Guru Dutt's films are known as masterpieces. Today, his films are screened at many film festivals around the world and his films are studied in many universities. He is known as the next director of time. (Gurudatta)

Guru Dutt's film 'Pyasa' (1957) marked his breakthrough. The film was very popular among both classes and masses. Even today, the list of top ten films in India includes the film 'Pyasa' without fail. Even while this film was being made, Guru Dutt's thoughts for his next film were running in his head. This film was very important for him. Was ambitious. The movie was 'Kaagaj Ke Phool'. He made this film at a very fluid level.

Each of these frames is still discussed today. Guru Dutt's cinematography by photographer VK Murthy for this film is still studied today. The use of light and shade in this is going to surprise even today. The film's songs were composed by Kaifi Azmi and music by Sachin Dev Burman. 'Wakt Ne Kiya Kya Hasi Sitam' sung by Geeta Dutt and 'Bichde Sabhi Bari Bari' sung by Mohammed Rafi were amazing. The film was made with a lot of heart. Guru had put his all into it. It was the first cinema scope film in India. (Gurudatta)

Gurudutt Wahida Rahman played the lead role in the film. It was obvious that Guru Dutt had high expectations from this film, which was made with great intimacy and confidence. But it was the opposite. The film was a superflop. All the dreams of Guru Dutt were dashed. After this, Guru Dutt never directed a film again in his life. After this, Guru Dutt's 'Choudahvi Ka Chand' was directed by M Sadiq and 'Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam' was directed by Abrar Alvi.

The film 'Kaagaj Ke Phool' was premiered in two places. Mumbai at the Maratha Temple and Delhi at the 'Regal' theatre! Guru Dutt invited his circle of friends in administration and politics to the premier of Delhi. He also invited Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the then Vice President (and later President) of India to this Delhi premiere. The Vice President was very studious and had a passion for the arts. (Gurudatta)

The premiere was held at the Regal Theater in Delhi on 25th September 1959 and was attended by the Vice President. He watched the entire film with great interest and also expressed his satisfaction about the film. In fact Vice President Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was very far away from the film due to his busy schedule which was probably the only premiere in his life that he attended. The photo of his premiere appearance went viral a few days ago on Teacher's Day. (Gurudatta)

About the movie Jata Jata Thodansam Kaag Ke Phool. Kaag Ke Phool was a film that was not well received by film buffs and critics at that time. This means that the film did not work at that time both in the classes and the masses. But later, especially after the seventies, Guru Dutt's films started to be studied all over the world. The film 'Kaagaj Ke Phool' has now become a classic. Today, film studies have become a syllabus in many universities. Guru Dutt, however, was fed up with this failure. Again he never officially directed any movie. The film won two Filmfare awards. The first prize went to VK Murthy for Best Photographer and MR Achrekar for Best Art Director.

However, it is unfortunate that Guru Dutt could not see his film receiving a favorable reception all over the world.
