Darasingh's stunt is a different story
"Faulad" (released December 6, 1963),
which flaunts Darasingh's bare chest and muscular chest, is a modern-day
cigarette-in-mouth, hair-grown, bearded, grimacing 'animal' (ie Ranbir Kapoor)
of that era. The previous generation of film lovers will understand exactly
what I mean. (Dara Singh)
Today's digital generation may have gone to Google,
but nothing heavy can be found there. With each passing time, the film
takes on new characters and travels forward. Once upon a time 'Tufan'
(1968) was the name of Darasingh's stunt film. Later, Amitabh Bachchan's
Manmohan Desai film was titled Tufan (1989). Darasingh's De Maar films did
not find a place in mainstream cinemas. Their main theaters are Gulshan,
Nishat, Taj (the main theater of 'Faulad'), New Roshan, Daulat, Royal and
nearby Moti, Super in the Pila House area of central Mumbai. The poster
was full of fighting and scheming heroines. The director did not
understand how to come up with such a combination. Whatever it was, it was
a super hit formula.
In the seventies, it was confirmed that 'Fighting also requires acting'. The acting of Dharmendra, Amitabh Bachchan, Vinod Khanna as the handsome hero fighting is commendable. Now modern technology and weapons are seen on the silver screen like a grand alliance. Pathan, Jawan, Kantara, KKR, KGF (1st and 2nd), Tiger 3 and 'Animal' continued to wreak havoc on the silver screen. All these transitions are the subject of a flashback when 'Faulad' is 60 years old. (Dara Singh)
Stunt films may not have had much importance in the
film curriculum, but there was a huge craze for such stunt films in the
sixties. Their names are whimsical, their stories are dramatic, their
songs are sizzling dances, their action is full of posters, their releases are
in theaters like Taj or Nishat, their captive audience is lost in the world of
screen. Censor certificate, giving Darasingh's Dhippad entry guaranteed
claps and whistles, cheering and cheering for Darasingh on the screen sitting
in the armchairs of single screen theatres. This public did not see
anything like 'where did the director look better in the film?', 'what was the
heavy shot?', 'was there a brain-teasing shot'. These pictures were
enjoyed without any shot to the head. At the mainstream theater they were
coming to matinee shows. I used to enjoy the stunts of Darasingh, Mumtaz,
Randhawa in the movie Galli in Girgaon. If the sound system is not good,
we used to make noise with our mouths, dishyav dishyav, dishyum
dishyum. What a heavy day it was. (Dara Singh)
To book Darasingh's stunt film progress, King Kaag'
(1962) to 'Faulad Ke Dushman' (1968) also left a lasting
impression. Rustom e Bagdad, Awara Abdullah, Samson, Aya Toofan, Aandhi
Aur Toofan, Rustom e Hind, Boxer, Tarzan Come to Delhi, Sherdil, Raka, Seven
Seas Par, Lutera, Dada, Danka, Toofan and so on. Each of these pictures
has a 'story'. But she didn't stop no matter what. There is enough masala
in the picture. (Dara Singh)
The story of 'Faulad' is by Mulkraj Bakri and
Farooq Qaiser. The film is produced by Vinod Joshi and Rajni
Desai. Directed by Mohammad Hussain. Music g. S. O matwale
sajana, hai to kante maut se zindagi, yaad teri ayegi sung by Kohli and Asha
Bhosle from the film were popular. In the film, Amar (Dara Singh) and
Princess Padma (Mumtaz) have a love story full of coincidences. The movie
also stars Randhawa, Minu Mumtaz, Shyam Kumar, Ratnamala, Parveen Paul, Kamal
Mehra, Randhir etc. Cinematography of this film by Broadway Pictures
banner Suleman and Anant Waddekar. B. By Bhadsawale. (Dara Singh)

Darasingh's Mardhad pictures had a personality of
their own and if they were enjoyed in the same frame or frame, they would pass
the time. It is also characteristic that despite playing the heroine in
many such stunt films, Mumtaz made a name for herself in the mainstream film on
the basis of her quality, beauty and hard work.
